KwikSitter FAQs

How do I become a KwikSitter?

First, check here to see if you meet the requirements. If you do, sign up, fill out the online application and upload your supporting documents. If you’ve got everything we need, we’ll be in touch for your interview and orientation. And then you’re ready to take jobs and make money through KwikSitter!

How much money can I make?

That depends on how much you want to work. Here are a few tips to help increase your income:

  1. Provide more than one type of KwikSitter service. If you’re willing to provide child care, elder care, pet care and housekeeping, you’ll have more job opportunities available to you. In your KwikSitter application, mark off all the services you’re qualified for (check here to see our requirements).
  2. Make yourself available. Expand the hours when you’re available to work to include evenings, weekends and nights. This will give you access to more jobs as demand fluctuates during different times of the day, throughout the week and seasonally.
  3. Check the app often for new job postings. Jobs are posted as each customer request is submitted – it’s instant! Pay attention to alerts and notifications on your phone, and accept jobs quickly.
  4. Maintain a high KwikSitter rating. Do a great job and get high star ratings from KwikSitter customers. The more stars you have, the more customers will choose you – it shows that other customers are happy with your work.

What hours do I have to work?

You can work when you want, as often as you want. Some KwikSitters like to work flexible hours that suit their schedules, while others work KwikSitter jobs on top of their regular job. It’s entirely up to you!

Can I choose which jobs to accept?

You are an independent contractor and are not obligated to accept jobs when they are posted in the app. The app will only present jobs that match your KwikSitter profile. When you do accept a job, we expect you to honour your commitment. The customer is depending on you!

What if I need to cancel?

Please provide as much notice as possible to the customer by going into the app immediately, finding the job and selecting cancel. However, please note that frequent cancellations or no-shows will result in your KwikSitter profile being removed from the app.

How and when will I get paid?

Payment will be made directly to your account once a week for all jobs completed that week.

Am I an employee of KwikSitter?

No. As a KwikSitter, you are an independent contractor, and you are responsible for your own annual income tax reporting. Visit the terms page for details on your legal obligations as an independent contractor.

What services am I responsible for on a KwikSitter job?

For an overview of services expected for each type of care, visit child care, elder care, pet care and housekeeping. And don’t worry – we will provide more guidance during your orientation session.
